I Had Caterac Surgery In Left Eye Was -9 Surgeon

I had caterac surgery in left eye was -9 surgeon made -5 which I can't see blurry vision, can't judge distance etc. my normal eye doctor stated over corrected which means I can never wear glasses again. He is rushing contact lens for me stated no driving until get new lens. I am getting head ache and problems big time seeing computer at work. I am confused as to why my vision made for no glasses ever again surgeon did not make my eye so I can see up close either I don't understand why they did things?
