I Had Dental Work Done Today And Was Given An

I had dental work done today and was given an injection in the upper gum,left side. The minute I got it I had a sharp pain shoot up my face and immediate numbness around my eye ( the rest of the left side from eye down got numb a few minutes later. I've never experienced numbness around my whole eye. Is there a nerve that could affect this?
