I had done FNA test for throat. Submental area- 2cm size, circular, non tender.
Twelve unstained smears prepared from USG guided FNA from submental lymph node.
Result: Smears reveal mature lymphocytes, reactive lymphocytes, immunoblasts, few tingible body macrophages. Some of the smears show clusters of epithelioid cells and few multinucleated giant cells. Some of the lymphoid c ell show crushing artifact. Smear stained by Ziehl Neelsen method does not reveal presence of acid fast bacilli.
Impression: Granulomatous Lymphadenitis.
What does it mean? What treatment should I start?
