I Had Done An IUI Procedure On The June 20th

I had done an IUI procedure on the June 20th and was asked to do blood work on July 6th. My period has not come yet, and normally my period comes on the 8th. I am confused why would they ask me to do blood work before my period date. During this cycle i was told not to use ovidrel as it was not necessary.
I don't have my period yet but i don't have pregnancy like symptoms either like sore/enlarge breast
