I Had Half Of My Thyroid Removed Last Week. I

I had half of my thyroid removed last week. I had a 4 cm solid mass in the upper right lobe that was benign. Today 9 days post op I woke up with a very salty taste in my mouth. Everything I eat or drink tastes like saltwater. Showering is like showering in the ocean. What is causing this? Is it related to my thyroid? The only medication I am taking is Zyrtec 10 mg
