I Had Hysterectomy On 12/14/16. Removed Ovaries. Uterus, I Have

I had hysterectomy on 12/14/16. Removed ovaries. Uterus, I have been having severe hot flashes and night sweets then shevering afterward to the point my muscles are aching. It feels like I have Flu in my bones. My doctor who did the surgery wouldnt put me on hormones therapy or any medication to relieve my symptoms until now. Is that normal?
