I Had Leg Surgery A Year Ago, Arid Placed In

I had leg surgery a year ago, arid placed in my left femur. When I've had dental procedures, the dentist has had me take 2 clindamycin before the dental work. Is this something I will have to do for a period of time? I can only take 2 or 3 antibiotics, without a lot of side effects.
