I Had My Colon Resection End In 2000. I Recovered.

I had my colon resection end in 2000. I recovered. About 2 weeks ago, I had 3 days of huge abdominal pain, saw my doctor who treated me with Cipro and Flagyl. I finished that Friday night. Yesterday I had 6 bowel movements. Today I've had 6 already. It is solid and small and medium in color. I am allergic to the contrast IVP dye, and during the last visit, the doc said if it started again, he would hospitalize me so they could use the contrast dye anyway, that I'd be safe because I'm in a hospital. I'm pretty cared. Might a colonoscopy be used to properly diagnose what's wrong?
