I Had My Last Check Up About A Year Ago

I had my last check up about a year ago and everything was fine. I got prescribed birth control for my irregular periods. I took the pills for about 4 months and I bled heavily every single day I took the pill. I stopped taking the pill bled for about a week and then stopped. I didn't get my period for another 4 months. I got my period last week but it's only been spotting nothing heavy at all. Is this my body regulation itself?
