I Had My Tonsils Out When I Was 16 I

I had my tonsils out when I was 16 I am now 24 it happened last year but this time has been worse I had the most horrible taste in my mouth and when checking realised I had a build up I managed to clear out of a hole still left at the back of my throat! Is this normal I can now clearly see a hole? On the right side
