I Had Neck Surgery 5 Months Ago. They Fused L6

I had neck surgery 5 months ago. They fused L6 with cadaver bone. Put pins in and straightned the spine and reinforced with a plate. I had a lot of arthritis they removed. Since then I have been belching..I mean one loud belch. I stop and, sort of, hyperventilate a bit then one LOUD belch comes out and then I'm fine. (til the next one). Its the same EVERY time. Now I don't quite hyperventilate since my throat has healed mostly but I breathe as if to catch my breath and then one loud belch. My neurosurgeon swears it has nothing to do with the surgery. I think so because they really bruised my throat, tongue was terrible black and blue. My primary has put me on Omeprazole but it didn't help so now he wants me to take Pantoprazole. This is NOT heartburn! I get heartburn from time to time and I know this is not that. After the belch, no burning, nothing I fell fine. Any suggestions please ? Thank you
