I Had Nexplanon Birth Control In My Arm From June

I had nexplanon birth control in my arm from June 2014 to January 2016, I had started to spot so I consulted with my doctor and they suggested that I have it removed so I did. Around March 25 was when I think I had my first period, it lasted for three days. Mine typically last seven. I'm just confused I've tried researching about it and I've only found pregnancy and miscarriages. I took an ovulation test two days before my period and it came up to be negative.. So I am not sure what it is going on..
