I Had No Problem Urinating Until 2 Days Ago After

I had no problem urinating until 2 days ago after attending a convention. I had to go to the emergency room and get a catheter put in. They removed it and I went to my urologist. I started urinating slightly. He put me on Flomax on Friday. I was starting a small stream of urinating again, but it seems to have stopped again. I can urinate in small droplets. I have to see the urologist on Friday.
Is this normal and am I just waiting for the drug to take effect. I felet that as long as some unrine was coming out I was ok.
