I Had Quit Dipping For A Few Months And Picked

I had quit dipping for a few months and picked it back up recently i noticed it burned when i would put some in and today i looked in the mirror at my lower lip and where i put the tobacco there was a large layer of white dead looking skin that peeled off under the skin the gum looked damaged is this a sign of cancer?
