I Had Right Side Pain 4 Months Ago, Was Trying

I had right side pain 4 months ago, was trying to get up from sitting and it was like the muscles in my side locked up. Went to doctor and got an inflammation shot and muscle relaxers. Seem to get better, but then I have reoccurring pain in my side. Muscle doesn't lock up but its a pain none the less. After 4 months could this still be a strain muscle that hasn't healed
