I Had Stitches Today For A One Inch Deep Cut

I had stitches today for a one inch deep cut to my arm four inches long one inch wide,was squirting blood whwn went in, doctor said she didnt think i cut artery, and stiched closedthree hours have passed,and my arm about 4 inches around wound had turned purple, should i b worried about internal bleeding,was a very clean cut from utility knife,so shouldnt b brusing, is the discoloration normal
