I Had Surgery Last Week Wednesday (12/23) It Is Now

I had surgery last week Wednesday (12/23) It is now Friday (1/1) and I started coming down with a cold last night. All day I have had achey joints, weakness and a headache. My thermometer reads 95.6 which I believe means the thermometer is broken. I unwrapped my toe (where I had the surgery) and the lower half of the wound looks a little red. I figured the top of my shoes were just irritating the stitches. Am I being paranoid or should I get myself to the hospital for an infection?
