I had surgery on May 7, I had two ventral hernia's and one umbilical hernia all separate places. The surgeon made one transverse 4cm incision above my belly button and repaired one hernia, then the surgeon extended the incision by four cm because he could not reach the second hernia. Is the extension of the incision considered a second incision? Next, the surgeon repair all the hernia's through the transverse incision. Last a mesh was installed, the surgeon made two 1/2cm incisions above and below my belly button called anchor sutures. Then closed all three incision with staples. Did the surgeon repair all three procedures through the transverse incision? Because that's seems impossible because I have three incisions. If this surgery was completed through one incision, why do I have three incisions? Did my doctor commit billing fraud?
