I Had Surgery On My Left Hand To Repair The

I had surgery on my left hand to repair the nerve to my ring finger. The Dr. told me that I would have numbness for quite a while after surgery until the nerve would heal. the problem is that not only is the ring & pinky finger numb, as he said but the Thumb Index, & middle finger are numb also & all of the fingers feel stiff & swollen but they are not swollen. The Dr. said there was no good reason that they are numb & to give it another 6 weeks. What is causing this numbness in my Thumb, Index & middle fingers?
