I had surgery on my right shoulder in December 2014. In July of 2015 I was still experiencing numbness in my
right hand on my middle three fingers. It was constant so I somewhat stopped noticing it but it never truly went away. And then two weeks ago I went on my first mountain biking trip, didn't notice any numbness then. But over the past few days I have been waking up with both my hands and fingers numb, as if I had been sleeping on them all night, which I didn't. The condition has persisted. Then two days ago I took my car to a self car wash and pressed the trigger on the handle for the high pressure, and was in excruciating pain. I kept switching off between both right and left hands but stopped the wash early because it was so uncomfortable. Then later that day I took a nap and woke up hysterically crying in pain from my right hand (and I have been known to have a very high pain tolerance). My left palm and fingers have felt a small degree of numbness, but not pain. But for the past two days I have worn a wrist guard with a thumb protector, first to sleep, then all day, because I am in so much pain in my right arm. I woke up today with both hands and fingers feeling completely numb, but with my right one in severe pain. It hurts to bend my hand forward, but it is extremely painful to try and push my right hand fingers with pressure a little back. Opening and closing my fist is painful, but not as excruciatingly painful as it was when I woke up from that nap. And the pain from that lasted for a full 24 hours and I was crying hard because of the pain. Today is back to the numbness, the inability to bend my fingers backward on my right hand, and frankly I am extremely freaked out. Autoimmune illnesses are on both side of my father and mother's sides of the family. My mother has rheumatoid arthritis, and I'm not 100% certain because of different perspectives of diagnoses, but there has also been lupus and osteoarthritis. And that's just my mother. Any suggestions or insights please? Thank you!
