I Had Swelling Of The Tongue Which Was Put Down

I had swelling of the tongue which was put down to an allergy due to a blood pressure pill called Perindropil. I went into shock and was put into an induced coma which saved my life. Why did this little pill which I had been taking for 4 years have this affect on me
