I Had Total Knee Replacement On Left Knee 3 Days

I had total knee replacement on left knee 3 days ago. Bought a polar pack that I fill with ice and water and it pumps cold air around knee. Knee is swollen and makes it hard to do exercises. I leave the pack on all the time except for when walk. How long do I keep using this machine and when will swelling start to go down?
