I Had What I Thought Was A Virus 1 Month

I had what I thought was a virus 1 month ago. Started with a sore throat went into congestion and post nasal drip and ended up in my chest with a cough. The cough lasted a long time, but I didn't cough all that frequently. Then I got the "virus" again. Exactly the same and now 7 days after the reoccurrence I have a cough that is infrequent but I just had a long, long, spell where I didn't think I was going to be able to breath. There is mucus that is choking, gagging me, but I would say it is clear. It was really scary, worried my husband and woke up the dog! It felt like I could not clear my airways. I should say that my husband has leukemia and gets all viruses he is exposed to and hasn't gotten this, which is odd. I am 60 and otherwise healthy.pat
