I Had What Appeared To Be An Allergic Reaction To

I had what appeared to be an allergic reaction to detergent with heavy scent. I scratched my arms and neck and lost sleep for two nights and then my doctor prescribed a medril pack of prednizone. The itching decreased, but it is not gone. Should I have my doctor check for liver or kidney problems?
