I Have 7 Month Old Boy With Bad Cold, Congestion

I have 7 month old boy with bad cold, congestion for past 5 days who today since 2:30 pm EST just starting to cry very loudly in pain with tears, sometimes after a burp or coughing. After several bouts of crying and breathing a bit heavy, he stops and seems a little better for 30-45 minutes and then it all repeats. Low-grade fever of 99.4 today. Gas drops seem to help for about an hour. Just tried some motrin. Any ideas of what this might be or what I could try?
