I Have GTPS And IT Band Inflammation And PT Over

I have GTPS and IT band inflammation and PT over 2 months did not work (multiple modalities. My ortho doc will not do corticosteroid injections because I have hx of herpes simplex eye flares and on preventative Valtrex. BUT he wants me to take systemic antiinflammatories which make me sick in multiple systems as well as flare the opthalmic herpes simplex . I dont know what to do now, I cant live wit this disabling pain. would local steroids be likely to cayuse a reaction as well?
