I Have MDS And Am Currently Low To Intermediate Risk.

I have MDS and am currently low to intermediate risk. I have been involved in a research study with MD Anderson where I took a 40% lower dose for three days every 28 days. I did this protocol for about 9 months and there was no benefit. My blast counts remained the same while my blood levels went down and my need for blood transfusions (two units) increased from once a month to twice a month. Since November I have been watching my AST and ALT levels and they have consistently gone up. The ALT levels are currently at 183 but have been as high as 210. The Dr had me have an ultrasound and then an MRI of the liver and there is a small cyst on the right upper lobe of my liver and the result also showed a fatty liver or parenchyma. I also have iron overload first as a result of the MDS because I have high iron anyway and then from the multiple transfusions I have had, so I am taking Jadenu (deferisirox) to bring the iron level down. Is there anything I can do to reverse the damage to my liver at this point? Could the problem with the liver be from taking the decitibine?
