I Have Von Willebrand's And I Took Birth Control For

I have Von Willebrand's and I took birth control for a few years to control bleeding during periods. I stopped taking BC about a year and a half ago and only recently started to have regular periods. In the last couple of weeks I've noticed light bleeding during intercourse but last night the bleeding was very heavy. However, I did not have any bleeding after that. I'm not sure it if was caused by rough sex (it was not painful though) or something else. I plan to schedule a doctor appointment but I won't have time for several weeks. Is this something that could be caused by my bleeding disorder?
