I Have A 91 Year Old Mother Who Was Active

I have a 91 year old mother who was active and very healthy until she took a fall in her kitchen the end of March this year. We took her to the hospital. She was found to have crushed three veritable in her lower back, buttocks area. She was sent home with oxycotton 20 mg. numerous times per day. Since then they have a nurse come in weekly to add, subtract pain patches, anxiety mess you name it. It's been horrible to watch. She has gotten no better. In fact now she is complaining of severe stomach pain in her lower abdomen. I have been pushing liquids and food so I know she is not dehydrated or starving. What could this be? I have heard horrible things about being on these heavy narcotics. Please help me to help her. The visiting nurse doesn't have answers. We have promised her as kids we would continue to allow her to live in her own home. So one of us four kids is always with her. Thank you for any help.
