I Have A Badly Herniated Disk And Will Have To

I have a badly herniated disk and will have to wait more than a month for an injection. Doctor insists on prescribing prednisone now, but previously the only real pain relief I have had is from methyl prednisolone. Is there a reason why I should not take methyl prednisolone?
