I Have A Black Spot On Roof Of Mouth. I

I have a black spot on roof of mouth. I am a smoker and female and 42 years old . also have a hard bump on gum. Above my tooth it has been there for about three months never hurt buy now I have pain. No puss and it is about the size of a dime. It has my throat hurting to drink or eat unless it is soft foods. Dentist says its not a abscess. To see my regular doctor kinda scared.
