I Have A Broken Tibula,fibula And I Hyperextended My Ankle.

I have a broken tibula,fibula and I hyperextended my ankle. My surgery was sat.july 30th. I have splint on it. The dr. Saw me back for the first time yesterday, removed some stitches and placed new splint. My problem is for the last few hours off and on it feels like a hot poker is going through the top of my foot....no where near any surgical site or damage that was done.
