I Have A Cast On My Foot Because Of Hammer

I have a cast on my foot because of hammer toe surgery. I stretched my foot, and I think that caused a sprain or pulled a muscle or something. At first it was painful to walk on, but after three days it was better. Now the skin above the cast is 'weeping'. Is this something I should go to my foot doctor for, and have her cut the cast off to check it out. Other than the swelling - that has gone down - and the continued weeping, all seems well. Thanks you
