I Have A Deep Cough From A Cold And I

I have a deep cough from a cold and I have strong tingling pains when I cough ...I want to say at my nerve endings in my back and spine? I know the pain is from the cough but could I hurt myself. I've had this before when I cough on a pain level of 4 but this is pushing a 10. It makes my knees buckle. I also have MS.
