I Have A Deviated Septum And Suffer With Constant Build

I have a deviated septum and suffer with constant build of mucus that is blood stained when I eventually manage to clear it. The next day I have the same problem. I also lose the ability to talk after a short time because of dryness, and also cough. Would having an operation to fix the deviated septum help?
