I Have A Dry Cough That Feels Like I Should

I have a dry cough that feels like I should choke up some phlegm, but usually don't get phlegm to come up. If any, not much in the last few days whereas a week ago, I was spitting in the small trashcan a lot. The cough is worse at night, especially when I JUST about fall asleep and my breathing changes to slower. Today I coughed up phlegm, maybe 1/4 tsp, but there was red in it when I spat it out in a Kleenex. Now I just started coughing and it was like a small, 1/4 tsp(?) blood clot looking goo.
