I Have A Dull To Intermittent Sharp Pain In My

I have a dull to intermittent sharp pain in my lower left abdomen with a lot of swelling and tenderness, at the location of my transverse colon. It's very sore when I palpate it but sometimes does release some gas. I've been able to pass stool and have had gas for days. I'm hoping this is just gas but it's gone on for 4 days now. What do you suggest?
