I Have A Few Sores On My Tongue And Inside

I have a few sores on my tongue and inside my mouth. They aren't very visible but I certainly feel them. It seems they have been there for 2 months now. Should I be worried about oral cancer. I smoked for 30 years but quit over a year ago. I am 53yrs old.
