I Have A Finger Infection, Since November, And It Does

I have a finger infection, since November, and it does not seem to resolve itself. From looking at information on the net, it appears I may have whitlow finger, except the fluid that comes out is clear. I am a college professor who deals with lots of paper and old manuscripts. My doctor seems to think this is just a bacterial and refuse to drain it or give me antibiotics. Can you give me some general advice please?
