I Have A Fingernail That Has Been In The Process

I have a fingernail that has been in the process of falling off for a few months... The nail bed has completely detached- as well as one side of my Cuticle... It's so tender on the other side- is it best for me to put a bandaid on it and let it fall or rip it off?
