I Have A Friend Who Has Advanced Prostrate Cancer And

I have a friend who has advanced prostrate cancer and would like to have regular blood tests to know his levels which is very important but the doctor here says not needed - only every 5 weeks or so. Is there a reason why he can't just get blood tests done when he wants?
