I Have A Grinding Sensation With A High Pitched Sound

I have a grinding sensation with a high pitched sound at the base of my skull/back of the neck. It occurs more if I move my head rapidly. Ringing in my ears has been there constantly since a couple of years and I have been told not to worry about it since there isn't anything to be done. This feeling of grinding occurs more typically when swinging a golf club and shifting weight. Can be associated with VERY SHORT duration dizziness.
