I Have A Had Growth On My Middle Finger Right

I have a had growth on my middle finger right under the nail. It is round and about the size of a pea. I stuck a needle in it and some thick fluid came out. It then bled slightly. I've put some antibiotic salve on it and a bandaid. Can you tell me what it is/was.
