I Have A Head Cold And Have Been Constantly Blowing

I have a head cold and have been constantly blowing my nose - especially yest now I've woken up and my right ear hurts currently it is bare able but later this afternoon I have to take a flight to another country - should I get it checked out by a doctor before to be sure I don't have ear infection or will the pain subside or any advice for flight? Thank you
