I Have A Home Health Patient With A Tracheostomy And

I have a home health patient with a tracheostomy and on continuous feeding. Last few weeks weeks residual check has been high around 260 - 300 cc with her norm being under 100. The primary caregiver is asking me to dump some of the Gastric residual to make room for the currently due medications.
My concerns fall for placing the patient at risk for fluid volume deficit or long term even pH imbalance.
what would be the best thing to do ?
