I Have A Localized Sore And Tender Spot At The

I have a localized sore and tender spot at the base of my skull about half way between my left ear and the center of the skull. It is about a week old now and is not something I've had before. At times it feels like it could be muscular as my neck aches. Typically I don't have pain while lying in bed and sleeping. Your thoughts?
