I Have A Mitral Valve Regurg.. I Am 74 And

I have a mitral valve regurg.. I am 74 and this appeared after a virus about 15 years ago. I was treated with diltaziapem (sorry, I can't spell it.) Quite bad at one tim50 mg 3 x day. My Bp runs unmedicated about 154/78. It goes up as high as 190/90 and as low as 118/70. My cardiologist has now put me on Losartan. I have very good LDL and HDL readings. Good kidney and liver conditions (recent blood tests) I have sleep apnea. It was a big problem then,15 years ago, but not so much now. How important is using the CPAP and is Losartan the drug of choice here. I have taken lotenson in past with good results, but different doctor. Sorry. this got longer than planned. I fear stroke due to my vonwillebrandts disorder.
