I Have A Old Injury, Which Left Small Fragments Of

I have a old injury, which left small fragments of glass In my knee.its been in there for over 25 years and 3weeks ago I kneeled on a piece of gravel and woke a shard up . I have a appointment to see a orthothogist next week. I seen this doctor 5years ago for the same thing .He wouldn't go in after it because it didn't affect my gait and could not see the shards on the X-ray or my MRI .What should I do , find a new doctor that is willing to go in and take them out or leave it all be.
