I Have A Pain Below My Neck On My Back

I have a pain below my neck on my back which has been bothering me for 3 weeks now. It feels like a sprain or strain but hurts so much I can't sleep or concentrate well. It's very uncomfortable and I am beginning to wonder what it is and have no idea what may have caused it.
