I Have A Pain That Comes On Every Few Seconds

I have a pain that comes on every few seconds in my head that seems to be connected fo my ear. and the left side of my throat I wear hearing aids and expect that the hearing aids seem to have caused an infection or something that has spread to the back left side of my head. The pain is not excruciating--more like a bong that comes up and goes away instantly. It seems to go away when I take Ibprofun but comes back in that periodic way every 15 seconds or so and then goes away I have never had this pain before. And I took out my hearing aids till this is resolved. Thoughts?
